Cluny Macpherson MA
(Hons), DPhil Cluny
Macpherson has longstanding teaching and research
interests in Oceania. These include social and economic development in Pacific
states; relations between large and small states in the Pacific region; the social
and economic consequences of migration in the Pacific region; health and ethnic
identity of Pacific people in Aotearoa. He also has particular interests in Samoa,
the Cook Islands and Fiji. .

Paul Spoonley MA,
MSc, PhD. Paul has
been at Massey University since 1979 after completing degrees in New Zealand and
the UK. He holds a Personal Chair in Sociology and is Regional Director (Auckland)
for the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. His research career has included
work on neo-fascism and anti-Semitism, Pakeha identity, Maori development, racism
and ethnicity. Current research includes Asia-Pacific migration and non-standard
work.

lectures in the Sociology programme and is Director for the Massey University
Centre for Justice and Peace Development. His primary research interest is the
politics of conflict resolution.
